Michelle Sperry

  Michelle Sperry is the Artistic Director of Connecticut Theater Dance Company a non-profit 501(c)3, socially conscious contemporary ballet company providing tuition assistance through Encore Youth Scholarship Program.  Ms. Sperry founded of CT Theater Dance School  to fulfill her personal mission to enhance the lives of children offering multi-genre dance classes for beginner and pre-professional dancers in additional to her well-established classical ballet training program.   She brings her passion for dance, love of teaching, boundless energy, creativity, and many years of experience in the performing arts and as an educator to a wide range of programs and services offered at both studio locations in Norwalk and Westport.


    Ms. Sperry was awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy and has studied with the Pennsylvania Youth Ballet Company, the North Carolina School of the Arts, L’Academie de Danse Classique, the Nelson Curtis Ballet Company, the Joan Malone Dance Company, the Boston Ballet II Company and the Ann Arbor Civic Ballet. She is a teacher-affiliate of the American Academy of Ballet. 

    

Ms. Sperry has choreographed and directed many of the great classical ballets including The Nutcracker, Carnival of Animals, and Cinderella, written and produced numerous original ballets, produced and choreographed musical theater shows at Weston Intermediate School, and choreographed numerous shows at West Rocks Middle School and Norwalk High School.  HairSpray Jr., Annie Jr., Lion King Kids, Elf Jr., Broadway Review, Little Mermaid and Jungle Book, Jr. are among some of her favorite shows! This season she enjoyed choreographing and producing Once on this Island, Jr. at the Weston Middle School.  Under her direction and choreography, CT Theater Dance Competition Team consistently wins top performing awards, honors, choreography recognition and scholarships.  


Ms. Sperry is also a professionally certified Etiquette Consultant with the Etiquette and Leadership Institute and teaches children, adults and special needs students throughout New England.  Ms. Sperry earned an A.B. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. cum laude from New England School of Law, practicing corporate law in several Boston area law firms.   


Ms. Sperry resides in Weston with her husband, Tim, and their four children, Isabella, Leonardo, Lilliana and Giovanni.
